Amber's Aspirations

Amber's medical expenses are extensive.  Each eye exam under anesthesia (EUA) is at least $3500.  While we have not yet received a bill for her intra-arterial (IA) chemo, it will probably be close to double that amount.  Amber will be having an eye exam under anesthesia and chemo every four weeks for at least a few more months.  Then, she will just have the EUA monthly until the doctors feel she is at a decreased risk of recurrence.  From then on, she will have fewer and fewer EUAs until she is only down to once a year, probably for the rest of her life.  With this in mind, we will be meeting our high deductible for many years to come.  Factor in all the travel expenses from North Carolina to New York City each time, and you get a very hefty number.  But at the end of the day, Amber is our little girl, a gift from the heavens worth every penny.
